Poole High School Gets Down To Business

To celebrate Poole High School’s recent success in being designated as a Business and Enterprise College, the school will be holding a week long festival of enterprise during ‘Global Enterprise Week’.

"There is a tangible sense of excitement and anticipation throughout the school as Global Enterprise Week approaches and we are all looking forward to a week full of activities that will not only enable our students to learn new skills and knowledge but also have lots of fun!" enthused Headteacher, Mr Chris Lewis.

Assistant Headteacher Darren Barton added “This is a programme designed to promote the school and pupils’ achievements and demonstrate our commitment to furthering our student’s awareness of business and global issues”.

Highlights of the week will include:

• Inspirational enterprise seminars for Business Studies students including Peter Scott from Dorset Chamber of Commerce and organised by the school’s Young Chamber.

• French business breakfast for the school’s business sponsors and supporters hosted by the students.

• Year 8 students participating in an enterprise challenge day where they will compete in teams to produce creative marketing materials for a local company.

• Anti-bullying event organised by the school’s Young Chamber.

• Taiko (Japanese) drumming workshop to promote creativity and global awareness.

• Back to school (Family Learning) evening for students and parents where Mum and Dad will get as motivated to learn alongside their children!
